Where to Begin

To be back here again. I tried this site back in highschool or community college but I could not figure out, or even had the guts, to talk to people here. Hopefully, that changes since I've grown older since my first experience here. But, anyway, what am I going to do here?

Well, I wanted to repost my fanfics and essays in case anything happened to them. But also, and this is a big one, Pillowfort has always had monetary issues but this one is really bad. They need to raise $25K by December 31st of this year or else the IRS will reclassify them as a hobby, and they have to close up shop because of the issues it would bring. I thought there were people on here that have a PF account, IDK, but I do know there are people putting together commission/donations drives for people who aren't able to donate directly to the site because of the region they're in.

I hope it helps in some way, and that's one of the reasons on why I made the account here. The other was just in case they don't make it I'll have this and see where it goes. I already donated (I should've done more but I'm facing some financial issues of my own, as well) and I hope things work out for the PF staff in the end.

It's not perfect but I've felt the most comfortable talking about the things I thought were interesting to me (if it is mundane).

How's Life with a Flip Phone?

I've been using a flip phone for several months and it's going well for the most part. I still find myself wasting a couple of hours a day on either a tablet and/or desktop, but it's better than having a smartphone to waste more time for me, personally.

At one point, I think we did have a sweet spot/happy medium with technology during the 2000's; landlines and cell phones handling calls (along with text messages on cell phones), computers whether on a desk or it's portable where people can wait for you to get back later, and mp3 players to store all of your albums and songs. A lot devices but it made people think what they really want to have like either a paper map or a GPS. Do I want the processing powers of that time? God, no!

I just think we need less features on phones that I (and possibly other people feel this way, too) personally don't need like Google Assistant for one. It gets a little overwhelming and it becomes bloatware at this point.

Either way, I'm still trying to find a better use of my time when I don't have school work to finish up like getting back into reading or even baking. But, I'm glad I'm getting some of my sense of direction back; it used to be better than this.
