Has it been four years since I'd written this? Man, time does fly. So, I mainly talked about why I liked the Star/Marvel comic interpretation of Lexor more than the cartoon's. Despite it being six issues long -and being cancelled half way through a four-part storyline-, I'm impressed that the writers decided to leave some room for Lexor to grow as a character; we can see where he can improve and/or becoming worse.

I have been pondering on a fanmade third-part of the cancelled storyline where Lexor and Mortdred are teamed up to outsmart Ectar and Witterquick to obtain the Fire Crystal. I also have a headcanon for Lexor's kingdom having the crystal, and because of it they're the best place to get armor, weapons, and other items because it's made fast because of the amplified fire and heat.

You can read it here on AO3 or go under the cut if you like!

I completely forgot about this one! I mentioned in one of my posts talking about another oddball pair. This time it's about Sly Rax and Cliff Dagger from M.A.S.K. Despite M.A.S.K. being average, I always came back just for those two in the early episodes. There was something about their dynamic that held some promise, and I can see it work and have the eventually break up. Yes, I wrote a fanfic centered around the idea of them meeting up by accident during the racing season.

I talked about how I wasn't the biggest fan on how they were dumbed down after the Panda Power episode. I missed their witty and pun-tastic banter; you never knew what you had until it's gone. Well, the episodes are up on Youtube for free so it's not truly gone.

Anyway, I wanted to gush about why I think these two worked best as a duo than on their own. I love me some villain ships! Baddies that are terrible, and utter troublemakers to everyone else but sweet only to each other.

You can go AO3 from here, or read the manifesto below the cut!

Sly and Cliff do make a good couple! )

Mortdred is one of those characters where the character gag should have been used sparingly or kicked to the curb never to be seen again. I wrote an essay discussing how much of a hindrance the "lol, he's a sycophant!" gag becomes in the cartoon. When in the comics, there's a glimpse of it being more than a joke; where it's more of an examination of his character and why he does the things that he does. Sadly, in the comics were cancelled and so that idea will never be expanded upon.

Well, here's the AO3 link, here, or you can read it down below, too.

Ah, the very first piece of meta I've posted on AO3 and the path for the Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light getting some tags wrangled up. Personally, some of it felt like I was stretching at times but I genuinely thought there was a potential in their dynamic/relationship. I'm a fan odd-ball pairings in general; two vastly different personalities somehow making it work is a classic.

I do have a piece of meta about another odd-ball pair, but that's mainly a ship manifesto for a different cartoon and I don't want to spam my journal.

Anyway, you can read it on AO3, here, or down below if you like.
