Introduction

Welcome to my second ship manifesto, and this time I would like to re-visit an old topic I already talked about a few years ago. I’ll be talking about Cravex and Mortdred, and why I love this couple so much!

Yes, Visionaries is the cartoon that just keeps giving because I’m still finding things to talk about. And yes, I’m going to be talking Mortdred and Cravex, again. But, it’s in a more romantic angle than my last study about them. Mainly, I can’t hide my bias with these two and I feel this will allow me to explain some points further than last time.

I know some people will feel as though I’m reaching with this one. Don’t say it because I have my moments where I feel like I am. But, this is a ship manifesto so this is more for fun. It’s also mainly, due to how short this series is, a lot of it is my own interpretations and speculations on these two because they’re were one of the many characters that didn’t get it a chance. So, some of it is more covert in nature (I’m looking at you, Cravex). So please excuse me for becoming unhinged in this work. As I said before, I’m biased about them.

So, I will be retreading some areas if you haven’t read my character analyses about these two, and relationship study. Also, I wanted to talk about some new things I’ve found along with some points I’ve missed in my relationship study. Plus, an interpretation I had of Mortdred that in hindsight was completely wrong.

And without further ado, let’s get right to it.

I completely forgot about this one! I mentioned in one of my posts talking about another oddball pair. This time it's about Sly Rax and Cliff Dagger from M.A.S.K. Despite M.A.S.K. being average, I always came back just for those two in the early episodes. There was something about their dynamic that held some promise, and I can see it work and have the eventually break up. Yes, I wrote a fanfic centered around the idea of them meeting up by accident during the racing season.

I talked about how I wasn't the biggest fan on how they were dumbed down after the Panda Power episode. I missed their witty and pun-tastic banter; you never knew what you had until it's gone. Well, the episodes are up on Youtube for free so it's not truly gone.

Anyway, I wanted to gush about why I think these two worked best as a duo than on their own. I love me some villain ships! Baddies that are terrible, and utter troublemakers to everyone else but sweet only to each other.

You can go AO3 from here, or read the manifesto below the cut!

Update: Well, just as I'd feared, the kenner-mask website is down. I don't know if it will ever come back but if it does I'll update it as soon as possible. In the mean time, the link will be removed and some things will edited like paragraph lengths and rethinking on some interpretations. Seriously, it was difficult to find height requirements for the Royal Australian Air Force (or the ADF in general) because theirs was vastly different from the US's (they measure sitting height and bum to leg length [depending the aircraft] while we had height requirements [>5'4"; <6'4"]).

Oh! Also, I did some basic math as well in the manifesto.

Either way, I hope it will be an enjoyable read!

I know one of my interests is Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, but there's something about M.A.S.K. that intrigues me. The basics are decent but there's not much to talk about because of how average it is. It drives me up the wall because it concentrates on the gadgets more than the characters; and said characters don't have super powers, they're just average people with an unique skill set. I barely remember most of the characters as they are because of it. Well, except for one.

It's Floyd Malloy that I remember the most because he's at least above average when compared to the rest of the cast. He has so many interesting personality traits that I went and wrote a whole character manifesto for the guy. I'm incredibly passionate for this one character in particular.

If you would like to read it, here's the AO3 link. You can also read it down below, too.

This one goes back to 2016 during my time with Transformers IDW; I was reading some G.I. Joe comics for the Hasbro-verse since Skywarp was going to be with them for a while. It was a weird time to be alive when they decided to give it a shot, and it was rather mixed to say the least. But, it did bring attention to M.A.S.K. and Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light (the latter I enjoyed the most).

Going back on track, here's the speculative character essay of mine. I don't think I can recapture the feel and inspiration I had when I wrote this, so don't expect it getting any updates anytime soon. It's more of a screenshot in time where I was still enjoying writing essay-long meta pieces about my favorite characters. I have to thank my 12th grade literary exploration teacher for allowing some creative topics about the books we've read; I had a lot of fun writing.

Here's the AO3 link, or you can read it down below.

Ah, the very first piece of meta I've posted on AO3 and the path for the Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light getting some tags wrangled up. Personally, some of it felt like I was stretching at times but I genuinely thought there was a potential in their dynamic/relationship. I'm a fan odd-ball pairings in general; two vastly different personalities somehow making it work is a classic.

I do have a piece of meta about another odd-ball pair, but that's mainly a ship manifesto for a different cartoon and I don't want to spam my journal.

Anyway, you can read it on AO3, here, or down below if you like.

I posted this back in June 18th, 2020 for the March Meta Matters Challenge along with Meta Manifesto 2020 Fest. I'm still proud of it and I find myself re-reading it to this day.

I wanted to write about my favorite Darkling Lord, Cravex, because he has many (potential) layers to his character than most fans will ever talk about or even explore in fanfiction. In essences, I wanted to share what I thought of him and maybe someone felt the same way that I do.

You can read it on AO3, here, or down below.
