This is going to be a long post about an AU for the Puppet Master comics based on the Rebirth arc. I thought I would repost it here and see what you guys think of it. It'll be under the cut for your convenience. I don't know if I'll get around to writing something like this, but it's not completely off the table. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and here's the AU.

It's based off the Action Lab comics from the Rebirth Arc, but instead of the reveal that Torch has the soul of Erich; I'm going with what the second movie was hinting at -Torch being brought to life with pigs and mule brains with the use of an incantation-.

The story begins as Blade explained to the others about a fortune teller named Madame Adon who has the ability to transfer souls from human bodies to puppet bodies and back, they decide to head over to her shop. Torch, not wanting to be left behind, decides to follow along. On top of this, he always wondered what it would be like to be a human. The deal goes the same way, and now Torch has to think about what person is he going to put his soul in.

He doesn't want to be an adult because of the longevity issue and he's never had a childhood before. But he most certainly does not want to be a little kid, there's little to no freedom and he's already ordered around enough as a puppet. That's when he finds the middle ground; he kills a 14 to 15 year old boy and drags it back to Adon's shop. Unfortunately for him he picked a boy that almost looks like Andre and Elsa's son, Erich, who has been dead for over 70 years.

In their new bodies, Torch is now going by the name Daniel and tries to adapt with his new life. In the mean time, our puppet friends are getting murdered one after the other, Andre and Elsa are trying to get back into parenting, and Torch having an identity crisis and needing to face some tough questions. Questions he's unsure if he wants answers to but needs to know since his creation.

Why was he made in the first place?

Who is Erich, and why don't they want to talk about him?

Would Elsa and Andre be happier if they had their actual son back than having Torch?

In his current human state, is he just serving as a replacement for their son?
